From first conversation to final delivery, our process is designed to be clear, collaborative, and elevated.

Initial Consultation | 

Share your vision with us by emailing photos, drawings, dimensions, inspiration images, or hand sketches to:

A member of our team will personally reach out to discuss your project, gather important details and understand your design goals. We refine your ideas, combine inspiration, and begin shaping a concept that reflects your priorities and aesthetic.

Proposal Development | 

Using details from our conversations and your reference materials, we prepare a formal proposal. This may include examples of past work, drawings, or conceptual visuals to help illustrate direction.

Once all specifications are confirmed, your quotation is issued for review.

Scheduling & Deposit | 

When you are ready to proceed, review and sign the quotation and return it to
laura@stevenmarkfidler.com

A deposit invoice will then be sent. Your project enters our production schedule once both the signed agreement and deposit are received.

Engineering & Drawings | 3-5 weeks depending on scope

Our engineer develops detailed shop drawings based on the approved proposal.

You will review and sign the drawings to confirm that all dimensions and details are correct. Finish samples are provided for approval to ensure materials and surface treatments meet expectations.

Fabrication begins once all design details are finalized and approved. This includes signed transmittals, quotations, and shop drawings, ensuring everything is aligned before we move into production. 

Build Phase | 3–8+ weeks depending on scope

Once drawings and finishes are approved, we provide an estimated completion window and begin fabrication. Each piece is built by hand by our fabrication team with an emphasis on precision, durability, and refined craftsmanship.

Timelines vary based on complexity, material availability, and shop schedule.  Keep in mind that fabrication cannot begin until all approvals are received.  This is when fabrication time begins.

Shipping/Delivery

When fabrication is complete, your project may be:

• Picked up from our studio
• Delivered locally
• Shipped via dedicated freight carrier

Final invoice will be sent after completion and due in 10 days.

Every piece we create is made to order, and part of what makes custom work special is the care and attention it requires. Timelines are estimates rather than guarantees, as our priority is always delivering exceptional craftsmanship rather than rushing production.

Design changes are a natural part of creating something custom, and we’re happy to refine details along the way. Just keep in mind that fabrication timelines begin once all drawings and finishes are fully approved and finalized.
